I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.

Looking Back on 2016

2016 was such a crazy year for our family, again so full of change!  We started the year living split between Oklahoma and Florida.  Finally in March our family was forever reunited, and our lives have been turned upside down since then!  I said goodbye to my career in the Air Force, my husband is 2.5 years through law school, and I went through a intense transition from an Air Force Officer to a civilian in a very rigourous accelerated nursing school.  This year was so great for our family, and it's really reminded us what's important in our lives.  Through richer or poorer, we're sticking together and enjoying our crazy adventures!

Finally it was time for the McVays to make a move!  My husband flew down on a Friday night, slept a few hours on an air mattress with me one last time in the house we made SO many memories in, in the home we brought our baby girl into, then drove Norah and I to the airport that next morning to drive our car back to Oklahoma!  We just didn't think Norah could handle 20+ hours in a car at that point.  It was such an emotional day!  Definitely the biggest moment for our family this year.

Goodbye Florida, 3.5 years went by quick!

This year was such a great one.  We loved living at the beach these past few years but loved reuniting more.  This year was such a huge transition for us and so many obstacles to hurdle, but we're doing it and kicking ass.  We knew living off student loans for a little over a year with a baby wouldn't be easy or stress free, but we're making it work!

This next year is going to be another crazy exciting one for our family!  Hopefully, we BOTH graduate school this summer (law school and nursing school) and we can finally start to build some stability back in our lives.  Norah will turn 2!  Kit will start his career as a lawyer and I will hopefully start my new career as a nurse!  Maybe we'll even get to squeeze in another move before the year ends.  Wherever this year takes us, we're ready and open to anything!

Norah June: 21 Months

Holy smokes, our baby is just a few months shy of TWO YEARS!  I just can't believe it.  Watching this girl change, grow and new learn things is THE BEST about being her Mama.  Each new month is so much more fun than the last, that it's hard to be sad and miss that cute chubby baby that she once was.  Each new stage is my favorite!

She's 28lbs and getting taller by the week!  Recently she's hit a growth spurt because her pants don't need do be rolled up at the ankle anymore.  She's fully in a 2T now, so I should probably start buying 3T clothes soon.  She's in a size 5 shoe, but working her way fast to a 6!  Still has long, curly blonde hair and those baby blues that I'd kill for.

This girl's language has just taken off!  Like we can't even keep up.  She's SO opinionated and will let you know instantly what she wants or doesn't want to do.  She say's phrases like, "That's my Mama", "Where did it go?", " I fix it", "Thank you Dada" and our favorite right now "Oh No!" with her hands on either side of her face!  She points to her eye, heart and "you" to say I love you!  It's the cutest.  She can point to and say mostly about 15 parts on her little body.  She knows the color blue!  She's just so smart and learns so quickly.  Little people are just amazing!

Norah's shocked face!

Who would have thought this FL girl loves snow!

She loves chicken nuggets, bananas, cookies, hummus, yogurt, peanut butter crackers and peas.  We're also STILL hanging in there with breastfeeding.  My husband jokes that she can't go to college with a boob still in her mouth! LOL

She runs, dances, jumps and climbs on everything!  She loves to ride in her new wagon and loves to try to peddle her tricycle.  She loves dance parties in the morning in the kitchen (we play music in the mornings).  She loves slow dancing with her Dad to the record player.  She LOVES outside.  Like she will sign and yell at you "Out! Out!"  Then when you ignore or try to steer the conversation elsewhere she'll grab your shoes and hers!  Then her jacket.... Sigh, she's stubborn.  I don't know where she gets it!  She also just recently started to love watching Disney music videos on YouTube.  She'll say, "NOOO!" if it's one she doesn't like, but her favs are Color of the Wind, Let it Go, Tale as Old as Time and Kiss the Girl!  She LOVES Frozen.  She will point and say, "Ana!"

She loves to dress up in my clothes.  And apparently pull her diaper off too!

She still loves her books and especially the flip ones.  We've got a nice collection going!  She has us read at least 3 to her at night before she's satisfied and will go to bed.  She loves to point airplanes out in the sky and say "Airpane!"  She sniffs flowers and say's "Ah so cute baby!" to babies we see in public.

She's the best thing to ever happen to us.  We love watching her do new things she learned in daycare and say new words all the time.  I can't wait to see what this new year has in store for her!
