I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.

Norah June: 5 Months Old

Weight and Height: 15 lbs 6 oz and 25 inches long

Eyes and Hair: Bright blue eyes and lots of white peach fuzz growing in, hello blondie!

Diapers: Size 3

Clothes: 3-6 month or 6 months

Eating: EBF 4-8 times a day, 2 bottles at daycare!

Sleeping: 7-12 hours straight through

This month was a fun one!  She's definitely made a huge developmental leap, and I've enjoyed it so much.  She baffles me at how fast she can change.  She screams and yells all the time!  I love it but the neighbors probably think I'm torturing her.  She loves to pop that thumb in her mouth, and since she still won't take a pacifier then we figure it's a built in soother!  My favorite thing is how quickly she'll roll onto her tummy at her own free will now.  She's in charge of her own tummy time!  She also spins like a top when she's on her tummy.  She can touch her feet when she sits up...oh yeah...she's sitting up for minutes at a time now!  I can't believe it.  I'm so excited for this next stage of her sitting up.  She enjoys sitting in a high chair now too when we go out to eat (padded though so she doesn't topple).  She pets Zeus and our cats now, but I'm trying to be sure she stays gentle with them.  She just barely started playing peekaboo with us!  She pulls her lovie over her face, then rips it off with a smile.  She's sleeping on her tummy now at daycare and because of that sleeps for longer stretches!  Her teachers love that for sure.  She's started to "chew" with her mouth.  So funny!  It's good practice for next month!  She touches our faces which of course makes us swoon, and pulls on Daddy's beard.  She is very interested in details like buttons on your shirt, zippers and tags.  She's also started to get on her knees when she's on her tummy...not really for that!!

Stranger awareness has also started a bit.  When someone else is holding her that she doesn't know (short list) she'll search for me and start to fuss a bit.  It was bound to happen sooner or later!  She warmed up to her Dad pretty quick though when we visited him for a few days.

She holds the breast now when she eats, and definitely understands signing "milk".  She eats both bottles at daycare now, which makes for a much happier baby at the end of the day.  She nurses for much shorter durations now, and gets distracted pretty easily during her meals.  She's showing huge signs of being ready for solids.  She chews with her mouth and likes to suck on sweet potato skins, bananas, etc.  We're still waiting for Dad though for her first bite!
