I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.

Lucy Mae: 8 Months

Our thick girl is now 8 months!!  This girl has been through a whirlwind of development this month!

As far as milestones goes, she's EXPLODED! Last month she was just working on sitting up.  This month she tackled sitting up on her own, to CRAWLING and to PULLING UP!  All. In. One. Month.  We can't believe it.  Our baby days melted away just like that.  She's babbling, saying "Dada" (first word!)  Now we know why she was sleeping like poop the last few months.

As far as sleeping she's doing SO much better. We realize now she went through a huge developmental leap and that's why she was regressing so badly.  She's back to sleeping through the night! She sleeps from about 8-7:15a.  During the day when she's home with me Lucy will typically nap from 10-1 and then 3:30p-5p.  We finally transitioned her to her own bed/room.  Ugh I can't believe it.  Once she started sleeping through the night we made the switch.  She's transitioned so smoothly.  I also got her a thicker wearable swaddle blanket which has helped her sleep better too.

We are still nursing away!  I had another blocked duct, but it resolved thankfully pretty quickly.  She nurses 4-5 times a day and we are up to eating twice a day now for solids.  She's still doing purees but this week we started doing some BLW solid foods and she's doing well with the chewing!  She tries to pick up food and place it in her mouth but she misses quite a bit.  She's doing so good!

This month we celebrated her first Valentine's Day!  Nothing too crazy, but it was fun to dress her sweet self up in hearts!  We had a pretty low key month and stayed close to home.  It's so much fun watching her explore and grow!
