I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.

Beach Day in April?!

If you want to learn what someone fears losing, watch what they photograph.
I photograph a lot.
This day was simple and lovely.  I love my boys and this life of ours together.

Weekend in HotLanta!

This weekend we had the pleasure of checking not one, but two items from our Florida bucket list!  We did this by heading north and visiting Atlanta, Georgia for a few days.  My husband and I have both been to ATL before, but only flying through or staying the night because our flights were delayed.  We were excited to actually get to experience the city for once.

First stop the world's largest aquarium, Georgia Aquarium!

Beluga whales were my favorite.
Kit's too I think.

We had to do a little crawling to see the penguins!

PENGUINS!

Penguin selfie!

The tunnel was awesome.  It let you see the underbelly of the stingrays and whale sharks.

Largest viewing tank I've ever seen...nice for viewing the whale sharks

Piranha

Just a few steps away we explored the Centennial Olympic Park and then made it in time for the fountain show.

Love making this handsome man smile

Of course we made time for cupcakes

We ended the night with a Braves game!

My husband has been a fan practically since birth, so it's always been a dream to see his favorite team at Turner Field.  I was floored that we could make it happen for him!  It happened to be military appreciation night so we had the chance to witness a military family be brought onto the field and be surprised by their deployed member.  Not a dry eye in the house, including ours!  Also in attendance was a member from our favorite band The Civil Wars (John Paul White).  We had hot dogs and beer, and watched the Braves kick butt!

Entertaining ourselves between innings with pictures!

We had a great time, Go Braves!

The following day we hit some of our favorites like Ikea and Whole Foods (we found organic beer in growlers, so of course we were sold!) and headed back home.

My husband and I had a wonderful time exploring Atlanta.  We're so incredibly happy that we get to do things like this together.  Life is pretty damn perfect right now!

EuroTrip #3 Preparations

Anytime we have the opportunity to travel, no matter where our destination is, I can't help but feel so grateful.  My husband and I work hard for the life we have and the life we've made together, and we're always saving for our next trip.  Traveling is what we LOVE to do, so we're at it again!  Unlike our last two trips to Europe, this one will be special for another reason.  We're going with our two best friends from college (for my husband it goes back to high school), and the more the merrier!  We're so excited to share a trip of a lifetime with our friends!

The planning aspect was definitely more challenging this time given there were four people to plan with instead of two, but it was so worth it!  First we had to all coordinate off work (the biggest challenge), then once we had dates we booked hostels, intra-country transportation, tours and lastly flights to Europe.  This trip won't be cheap, so we're going at it from the perspective of backpacking on a budget.  We're all in agreement that we'd rather spend our money toward the experiences rather than lavish hotels and fancy meals.  With that said we're fitting what we need in a pack, we'll stay in hostels, shop at local markets and picnic, and learn the public transportation systems in every city.

My husband and I are really excited about this trip, but even more excited about just being reunited.  We all live on opposite sides of the U.S., so when we see each other it's a rare treat.

We're visiting Barcelona Spain, Munich Germany, Luxembourg City Luxembourg and Paris France.

Four countries in two weeks...we can do it!

Can't wait for more pictures like this.

Husband Turns 27

We celebrated my husband's 27th birthday this week!  It was a little tricky given I'm out of town and he's working unusual hours, but we managed to each steal away from work and celebrate the weekend before and the day after his birthday.

First I stole away from work for a few days and he finally got his Boston creme pie!  He'd been begging for months.

Birthday Cake #1

But since he hadn't had his actually birthday day, we had another excuse to celebrate! He paid me a visit out of town the day after so we filled the hours we had together with steamed seafood, local beer, presents, birthday cards, laughs, smiles and love.

His first steam pot!

Birthday Cake #2

Golden cards are a tradition in our little family and have been for a few years now

Looking forward to his first batch!

At first I was pretty upset when I found out we'd have to spend his birthday apart.  We missed last years because of his deployment, so I really wanted to make this one special.  Despite the lack of celebration on the day of we still made the best of things.  Even if it was in a hotel room away from home because as corny as it sounds...we don't really give a damn where we're at just as long as we're together.  I'm learning with each new unplanned hiccup to roll with punches better each time, celebrate EVERY chance we get, and just be grateful for this amazing man.  This man's happiness is my happiness.  If you ask him he had an awesome birthday spent with his little family so Mission Complete!
