I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.

McGouzburg Trip: Luxembourg

We did the research on renting a car and driving from Munich to Luxembourg City. It was significantly cheaper than the four of us paying airfare, so my husband applied for his international driver's license before we left the states and away we went!

3 packs in the back, one in the backseat! Good thing we packed only 1 bag each!

Warning, frequent car crashes ahead?

My husband did amazing!

We took this time to catch up on our beauty sleep.

The original ETA should have only been about 6 hours, but traffic was stand still for a majority on the highway.  We didn't expect that at all, so it actually took us almost 10 hours!  Poor Kit, we couldn't even switch out drivers because he was the only one with the license.  Luckily we arrived safely and found our hotel without too much looking.

We checked in at Hotel Yasha (the only place in town with availability for that night) and the hotel owners were friendly men from Turkey.  It's custom for them to offer us tea (even though it was 11pm at night), so we couldn't turn them down.  My husband is really familiar with Middle Eastern customs, and he insisted we sit for one round of tea.  They turned out to be quite funny to talk to, and they had a great sense of humor.

The fun started when we actually had a peak at our room.

Sleeps 3

Panic attacks in 3...2...1...

We were fine until we pulled back the covers all on three bed and found grit, LOTS of hair and other things... We're pretty sure our room was used earlier in the evening, as a one hour type of rental if you catch my drift?  Kit had been driving all day, so he immediately crashed without caring about the state of the room at all.  Brie and I stayed up late trying to come to terms with how to sleep on top of the covers and try to stifle scenes from Taken in our head.

The next morning we booked tail out of there, but drove around Luxembourg City first.  It's a beautiful city, and we all wish we had time to explore more.

We tried to see General Patton's gave, but it didn't open for another couple hours.

Next stop, Paris France!!!
